We’ve spent the last couple weeks uncovering an old Garry Oak tree on the farm. In our spare time we brush mowed the overgrown blackberry canes and hips bush (with tons of thorns!), then cleared under the tree of old leaves, bark, and branches from decades of neglect. It’s made a huge difference and now we have a wonderful shade tree to enjoy. These native oaks can live 500 years and are worth preserving for future generations.
